Scapes Alive! They Are Here!

Posted 5/8/2012 9:47am by Cheryl Ferguson.

SCAPES!!!  Yep, those tender garlic tips are here for their annual flash dance.  Sauteed, they’re like a mild garlic asparagus.  Diced raw, they add a nice bite to salsas and salads and slaws.  Or stir fry to mellow them into your spring veggie medley.  But they’re only here for about 3 weeks, so come on down!  We’ll have scapes this week at the markets we are doing this week:  Cobblestone Farmers Market (Tue.), Old Salem Farmers Market (Opening Day is Saturday, May 12th), and also at PYO Strawberries at our farm this Saturday, May 12th.  (9 a.m.--NOTE new later time!-- to noon.  Last picking starts at 11:30 a.m.)

 It's time to e-Scape!!

Pick Your Own Update

We are planning to open the strawberry field for a Pick Your Own day on Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day) from 8-noon.  The cooler weather slowed down ripening and berry growth so it's better to wait a few extra days for more berries!
