Plum Granny Farm Weekend Update!

Posted 7/6/2012 7:48am by Cheryl Ferguson.

Little boy and raspberries

We had a great time picking raspberries and blackberries on Wednesday -- such a good time that we'll do it again!   We will be open this Saturday morning, July 7, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.. There are still LOTS of berries out there just waiting to go home with you!  Other farm products will be available as well including freshly cured garlic, fingerling and standard potatoes, and our famous raspberry jams.

We will also be at the wonderful Old Salem Farmers Market with raspberries, blackberries, potatoes, oriental lilies, and jam.  The market hours are 9-noon.  Come to the market early to beat the heat!  Here is a link to directions and more information: http://www.oldsalem.org/farmersmarket

We hope to see you at the Farm or at our tent at Old Salem!

Here's to enjoying organic, local and GOOD eating!

Pick Your Own Update

Tomatoes on the vine

LOVE tomatoes?  We will have our very first Tomato Pick Your Own event on Sunday, August 17 from 2-4 p.m.  Our tomatoes are really going to town and we'd like to share our bounty with you!  We have all kind of tomatoes from cherry, grape, roma-type to big ol' slicers -- in a rainbow of colors!  These yummy certified organic tomatoes are only 75 cents per pound.  Come on out to the farm and have some fun!  We'll also have our other farm products available for sale as well.

Check out the terrific feature that Flavor, NC did on Plum Granny Farm!  You can view the episode at http://video.unctv.org/video/2365069548/  They did a great job showing our garlic, ginger & berry production - plus a few other surprises! We are paired with Chef Jay from Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen who makes some wonderful garlic recipes!  Enjoy!
